06/25/2014 - Chargers send five to All-Star game

Elrosa­- Stearns County has announced its 2014 All-Star line-up for the annual SCL-County Line League All-Star game Friday, June 27 in Atwater.  Five of the players on the team, pitcher Chris Spanier, catcher Nathan Terres, infielders Jamie Terres and Eric Terres and outfielder Cody Eichers, are from Spring Hill.  The three Terres’ are brothers.  While a trio of brothers is not uncommon in area amateur teams, having three selected to the All-Star team is.  Collectively the trio was hitting .474, with 37 hits, have scored 29 runs and drove in 20 runs when selected.  At the time they were selected, the members of the SCL All-Star team had an accumulated batting average of .340. Of the All-Stars, Eric Terres had the best average at .545.  Jamie Terres had the most hits with 14 and Eichers had the most home runs at three.  Nathan Terres was the only All-Star with 11 runs. The team’s pitchers had an accumulated ERA of 2.09 when the selections were made.  Elrosa’s Ethan Vogt was leading the league in strikeouts with 41.
