Spring Hill Chargers

The Spring Hill Chargers are the last unbeaten team in the 2014 SCL Season. Spring Hill used 15 hits, including two home runs, to top St. Martin 8-3 in St. Martin this evening. Extra base hits were a part of the Chargers taking an early 4-1 lead over the Martins.  Eric Terres open the game with a leadoff home run.  In the second inning Cody Eichers (see video hightlight clip) hit a two-run home run.

 

The Martins though never quit pressuring Spring Hill. The would finish the game leaving 12 runners on base. The Martins did have 10 hits in the game, but also drew six and had two hit batters. They never had a big hit to create a large rally. Spring Hill had some good plays and their three pitches, Brent Terres, Cody Eichers (the winning pitcher) and Corey Schoenberg combined to for seven timely strike outs. Schoenberg struck out the last for batters. He faced.

St. Martin,s defense came up with highlight plays during the game. Catcher Kurt Schlangen (right photo) had a great catch of a pop-up and the third baseman Scott Schlangen and second baseman Nate Schlangen combined for a line drive third-short double play. Both teams hit well with Nate Schlangen, Jordan Moscho and Chas Henne all having two hits.  Kyle Lieser double for St. Martin.  Spring Hill's Eric Terres, Corey Schoenberg, and Nathan Terres all had three hits. Eric Terres also scored four runs.  Jaylyn Arceneau was charged with the loss. Josh Olmscheid and Kurt Schlangen also pitched. For the Martins. They combined for nine strike outs.
